A gantry crane is similar to an overhead crane, but instead of moving on a suspended runway, the gantry crane uses legs to support a bridge and an electric hoist. The crane legs travel on fixed rails embedded in the floor or laid on top of the floor. Gantry cranes are usually considered when there is a reason not to incorporate an overhead runway system.
These are typically used for an outdoor application or below an existing overhead bridge crane system. Unlike a bridge crane, a single girder gantry crane does not need to be tied into a building’s support structure—eliminating the need for permanent runway beams and support columns. In some cases, this can result in a significant reduction in material costs and can be a more cost-effective solution compared to a similarly specified bridge crane.
Gantry cranes are used in outdoor or indoor applications where complete beams and columns cannot be installed, or they can be used underneath an existing overhead crane system. Wireless remote controlled frame cranes are most commonly used in shipyards, railway yards, special outdoor projects such as bridge construction, or in steel plants where elevated rooms may be a problem.

Hoist: Model CD1, MD1 wire rope electric hoist is a small lifting equipment that can be installed on single beam, bridge, gantry and jib cranes. The single girder gantry crane is widely used in factories, mines and warehouses.
