How does it work?
A conventional gantry crane is used to install road or rail. It lowers a cable connected to a lifting point on a storage container. The crane then lifts the container and moves it further to stack or load it onto a trailer for shipment. A rubber tyred gantry crane also works on a similar principle – the difference is that the entire device can be moved from one location to another like a fixed conventional crane.
This rtg crane is ideal for situations where an emergency response is required to set up a temporary storage yard for containers. Since the crane is highly mobile, you can move it to a remote location and then load or unload containers.
In emergency situations, electric rtg cranes can relieve the load of a truck or train. In some cases, you can use either a crane or a train. In some cases, such as natural disasters or hurricanes, the rtg crane can remove an entire train car from the railway if needed.
Once the mission is completed, the gantry crane can be transported to the yard. This mobile design makes it suitable for many container yards without having to invest in traditional crane equipment for each yard.
